The Singapore dive season is with us once more.
After a relatively uneventful trip to Pulau Aur early in the season, we were amongst the first people to visit Kuantan Wreck.
This was to be my first trip aboard the MV Vincent, having made several trips aboard Vincent Chew's excellent 'White Manta' (www.whitemanta.com).
We left Newton Circus around 8pm, arriving in Mersing close to midnight. Once aboard, we found our cabins and settled down for the journey along the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.
The first dive was at 7.30am. DM's Gareth and Carl went to secure a shotline, and were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the resident Shovelnose Ray - Gareth stated that it was bigger than him, perhaps a more impressive statistic is to say it was in excess of 2m. Unfortunately, it didn't stick around for the rest of us.
Not that the dives were disappointing. At the bottom of the line was a 1.5 metre Leopard shark, and as we swam around the wreck we saw large marble rays, schools of cobia, trevally, barracuda and the first leopard shark's mate.
Enough chat, I'll leave you with the pictures...
